Chapter 1: The beginning

"Released protocol? Keeper?" Levra repeated the two phrases out loud as she read them off of the screen. She felt rather puzzled by what it meant, but also growing in curiosity. Looking over the screen, she tried to make out the faded HUD image to no avail. With a slight sign, she decided to try pressing on an area of the HUD to see what would happen.

Pressing the screen removed the warning message allowing the background images to light up, in the center of the screen was a 2x2 grid, three of the spaces in the grid where empty but in the forth one was a image of some kind of spider, in the top right corner it the words Archna, Status: Fine, Energy Level: 100%, in the top left corner it had a menu with several different options, "Tracker", "Database" "Locator". The bottom left corner had a faded lightened option that was still untranslated.

Levra looked at the screen for a moment, taking in the details. Looking at the spider, she made a slight sigh. "This is definitely some kind of Tamagotchi..."

Hoping to get some kind of solid information about it, she pressed her finger to "Database", hoping that it would have some kind of information on what the device was.

Upon pressing the "Datebase" option, it opened up a new menu that looked like it contained thousands of different folders, unfortunately for Levra the screen had some sort of error message stating: "Error, data is corrupted and can not be displayed, main server is offline switching to secondary data collection mode."

"Humm... Where's the Back button on this...?" Levra sighed slightly, feeling like she'd rather figure out more about this device later, and placed it into her pocket. Getting up from her bed, she stretched her arms out. She's been inside the whole morning doing nothing but stare at the small screen on the strange device; it'd probably be good to go out and look around town to familiarize herself with the place. More importantly, she needed to find the mall near here.

After changing into her day clothes, Levra headed downstairs to her front door. As she opened the door, she selected a random song off of her MP3 Player and began heading down the street, taking somewhat interested looks about at the new town that was her home.

Levra was heading down a average neighborhood with houses looking vaguely similar, up ahead stood a group of teens chatting.

Levra continued walking forward while humming along with her music. She slowed down slightly as she passed the group of teens to give a slight listen on what they were talking about.

One of the older kids of the group was making mention of some mall in town.

"You gotta come see the new mall." He said. " It's like the only thing worth visiting in this town.

"You keep rambling about how great this mall is yet you still haven't told us where it's at." Replied one of the other kids sarcastically

"Shut up Rob, I was going to get to that, the mall is about few miles north of here on main street." Said the first kid.

Rob rolled his eyes. "And what we're suppose to walk? And whats so great at the mall anyways?"

The older kid looked annoyed. "What your legs broken? And I heard that there's a guy that owns a electronic store that can tell me what this device is." The older kid reached into his pocket and pulled out the same kind of device that Levra has.

The group started walking out of Levra's earshot moving across the street, several cars drove down the road one of them being a black unmarked van.

"So the mall is north of here... Far away..." Levra muttered to herself as she pulled up her phone's GPS feature to get a better picture of where she would be heading. She took a small breath while mentally preparing for the long walk ahead of her and started toward the direction of Main Street. After a few steps, she stopped and placed her hand on the device in her pocket while turning to look back at the group that she listened to from moments ago.

"Wait, didn't he just have one of these...?" She said to herself as her mind trailed a little. A moment later, her MP3 player's playlist shuffled to the next song, having her set her mind back on track to her much more important task: finding the mall.

The GPS on Levra's phone showed that the mall was two miles away to the north and gave the directions how to get there

Levra took a few moments to memorize the immediate area given on the phones and continued onward to her destination.

A loud crash was suddenly heard down the road as a car went tumbling down it, suddenly a large reptile the size of a golf cart that closely resembled a triceratops went charging down the street smashing cars and signs and anything else that got in it's way heading straight for Levra!

Levra lifted her attention from her phone, unsure of what was happening. Looking ahead, she wasn't quite sure what she was looking at. After a brief moment, she realized that whatever it was, it was large, mean looking, and charging straight at her. Blank minded for a second, she started screaming and sprinting the other way.

Feeling disbelief at what she was about to say, she continued running and yelled out loudly, "HELP! A DINOSAUR IS CHASING ME!"

The creature closed in on Levra, but at the last second a pair of strong hands grabbed her and pulled her out of harms way. In a alley to the side of the road stood two young men, both where tall and in their late teens/early twenties, the one with the short dark spiky hair was standing next to her as he was the one that just pulled her in the alley.

"Hey you ok?" He asked.

Levra just stay motionlessly shocked for a moment, occasionally glancing back and forth between the two. She blinked twice she tried to speak, unsure of what exactly to say and stuttering quite a bit, "D-d-dino-s-sssss- Scales... Mean... Big... Chased... Big... Lizard..."

"Ran that way," she said faintly, turning to point, eyes wide open and feeling out of breath. "Big lizard.. Chased.. That way..."

With another blink, she checked to make sure all her arms and legs were still attached and gave a sigh of relief.

"... S-safe."

The Spiky haired guy looked at Levra, "Yeah that might be a little early to say that." He said pointing at the alley entrance as the monster stood there staring at them.

"I think it's time we ran...." Said the other guy

The spiky hair guy grabbed Levra's hand and took off running down the alley with the other guy as the monster took off after them giving chase.

Levra wasn't quite ready to be pulled across the alleyway and stumbled a bit as she tried to catch up into their pace. She was screaming to herself in her head not to look back and keep running, but she couldn't help tossing a glance back behind her, forcing her to pick up her speed even more after getting another look at the charging lizard. She had no idea who the two people helping her run away were, but it didn't matter so long as she didn't end the day as "Dino Chow®".

The three made their way down the alley as the beast charged after them, unfortunately for them though the alley ended in a dead end.
"So Chris why of all the alley's to run down did you pick this one?" Said the spiky hair kid.
"Oh don't even get started Slade." Said the guy named Chris.

The two started yelling back and forth at each other over who's fault it was that they were trapped, to the point it caused the monster to stop dead and stare at the two in bewilderment. After several minutes the monster got bored and reared up and roared at them.

After it finished it's roar Slade and Chris stopped arguing and both turned their heads in unison at the beast, "QUIET!" They yelled together.
The monster no amused charged at the three at full speed.

That's when something unexpected happened, the device Levra had lit up with text rapidly scrolling across the screen...

"Unregistered Technomon detected
local species detected within attack
radius, activating protection protocol.
Bonded procedure online, releasing
guardian Technomon."

Suddenly a flash of light blasted out of Levra's device forcing the monster to a stop. As the light cleared standing in front of the group was a large white spider, a four foot tall metal dinosaur, and a large gray scorpion.

Slade and Chris stood in shock staring at these creatures, "What the...."

The dinosaur yawned, as the scorpion looked back at Slade, "What you staring at spiky." it's said in perfect English.

Levra stared at the scene and blinked. "Th-there's more of them..." She said in a hushed tone, backing away, "And one of them is talking..."

"... I'm not the only one... Heard heard it talk, right?"
